2025 UTME statistics released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have shown that over 1.5 million candidates scored below 200 in the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Out of the 1,955,069 candidates who registered and sat for the 2025 UTME, only 420,415 scored above 200, representing barely 25% of the total participants.
The board revealed these figures in a statement issued alongside a detailed breakdown of the exam data.
“Less than 1% of candidates scored above 300, while 75% scored below 200.
These figures call for national reflection,” the statement noted.
