The Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Police have arrested 20 suspects for allegedly hacking the 2025 JAMB UTME results.
Yes, you read that right, some people tried to break into JAMB’s CBT system just to manipulate results.
According to reports by AIT, this is a whole syndicate of over 100 people.
These guys specialise in hacking the computer servers of major examination bodies like JAMB, NECO, and maybe even WAEC.
Their aim? To mess with the system, give certain students special treatment, and make money from it.
Security sources revealed that the hackers were out to sabotage JAMB’s CBT exam and make it look like it’s unreliable.
According to confessions from some of the suspects, they wanted to discourage students and parents from trusting the computer-based testing method, especially for future exams like NECO and WAEC.
One of the suspects explained that they would install attacking software on JAMB’s hardware.
Once that’s in, they could remotely hack JAMB’s servers at any chosen CBT centre.
From there, they could manipulate scores for their “special candidates“.
Some of the students involved in this illegal upgrade allegedly paid between N700,000 to N2 million just to get high UTME scores.
Preliminary investigations are pointing fingers at several private school and college owners.
These guys run what you know as “special centres”, and they make a lot of money from these backdoor deals.
This is so bad actually the pressure the parents are giving the children is too much maybe that’s what lead them to be paying a lot of money
