2025 Admission Should Not Be Given to Candidates Below the Age of 16 – Minister of Education Declares at JAMB Policy Meeting 2025.
The Minister of Education has made it clear that no candidate below the age of 16 should be offered admission into any Nigerian university or tertiary institution.
He gave this strong warning during the 2025 JAMB Policy Meeting held in Abuja, where key education stakeholders from across the country gathered to discuss policies guiding the new admission cycle.
According to the Minister, the age limit of 16 remains a legal requirement and must be strictly followed.
He further warned that any university or institution that admits underage candidates will face sanctions from the Federal Ministry of Education.
The Minister reaffirmed this by saying:
“No candidate under the age of 16 should be offered admission, no matter how brilliant or qualified they appear.
This is not just a JAMB policy; it is a national education guideline.
Institutions that ignore this will be sanctioned.”
