All you need to know About JAMB 2025 UTME Results Review
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has come under public scrutiny following the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, with widespread complaints of mass failure, technical issues, and score discrepancies.
If you’re a candidate, parent or stakeholder in the education sector, here is everything you need to know about the ongoing review, JAMB’s response, and what steps you need to take.
Why Is JAMB Reviewing the 2025 UTME Results?
- JAMB admitted that technical glitches affected 157 out of 887 CBT centres during the UTME, leading to several candidates receiving incorrect scores or incomplete test experiences.
- Despite preparations, the Board confirmed that errors still occurred, which have now triggered a full-scale review process.
Over 300,000 UTME Candidates Affected
- According to insider reports, more than 300,000 candidates, mainly from Lagos and the South-East states, were affected by these technical problems.
- Many students complained of:
- Incomplete or blank results
- Being logged out before completing the test
- Suspiciously low scores despite proper preparation
JAMB Has Set Up an Expert Review Panel
To address these issues, JAMB has fast-tracked its annual systems review, bringing in:
- Vice Chancellors from universities
- Measurement and assessment experts
- Members of the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria
- Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa
- The panel will investigate the entire UTME process, from registration to results, and recommend solutions.
JAMB Opens Complaints Portal for 2025 UTME candidates
- JAMB has created a special portal for submitting complaints.
- The portal is available for a short time only, and complaints must be submitted immediately.
- Once this window closes, JAMB will not accept any further complaints regarding the 2025 UTME.
JAMB Announced Resit for Affected 2025 UTME Candidates
- Due to confirmed errors at specific centres, JAMB has scheduled a resit for all affected candidates.
- JAMB 2025 Resit slip reprinting begins on 16th May 2025
- All affected students will receive instructions to reprint their new exam slips
ASUU Threatens Legal Action Against JAMB
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNN branch, has threatened to sue JAMB, alleging that the 2025 UTME results were unfairly skewed against South East candidates.
According to ASUU Chairman, Comrade Óyibo Eze:
- “JAMB deliberately failed many students from the East.”
- “No student in some top-performing schools scored above 200.”
- “This injustice must be addressed before it sparks national protest.”
- ASUU is demanding a transparent score review and has called on South East governors to intervene
N50 Million Scholarship for Top Scorers
De Imperial Philanthropic Family Nigeria has announced a N50 million scholarship fund for the best-performing UTME students in 2025.
- N500,000 each for top scorers in all 36 states + FCT
- N1 million each for the 25 best-performing students from the South East
Jamb,
I’m writing to express how I feel when I saw my jamb result yesterday, like seriously I didn’t expect such result.
I prepared very well for this year’s exam for complete one year, even when I was writing my exam I was thanking God because 70% of what I read came out.
I was expecting my score to be from 200 and above, but to my greatest surprised I was shocked with what I saw. Please you people should review my real result.
THANKS AND.
REMAIN
BLESSED
Dear Jamb,
I am writing to request consideration for an alternative arrangement regarding my JAMB exam, previously rescheduled to 16th of May, 2025. As a resident of Lomé, Togo, I face significant challenges in traveling to Aba, Nigeria, where the exam is scheduled to take place. The distance between Lomé and Aba is substantial, and the journey is often delayed by traffic congestion.
I kindly request that you consider granting me an alternative date or arrangement for taking the exam. I am committed to taking the exam and am eager to find a solution that will enable me to participate.
I would appreciate your understanding and assistance in this matter. Please let me know if there are any possible alternatives or if there’s any additional information you require from me.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Gift Mba
