How To Use The Official JAMB Brochure PDF Document
This is very important, as I have seen some UTME aspirants, getting confused after downloading the brochure documents.
The first step after downloading this PDF to your device is to open it with a PDF reader. You will see about 4 major columns, and I have taken time out to explain it below.
1. Course/Degree Awarding Institution
The first column you’ll be seeing is the Course/Degree Awarding Institution. Please take note, that under this segment/section, you will see the courses listed. For further understanding, you’ll notice that just below every course/program of study, are the names of institutions that offer this course.
This could be a University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic, College of Education, College of Agriculture or any specialized institution.
This is another important Section in the UTME brochure you just downloaded since it covers the full requirements for your selected course from the Nigerian Institutions offering it.
Take note that this column is sub-divided into two columns. It contains the requirements for UTME candidates (O’level result) and Direct Entry (DE) candidates (Diploma results).
3. UTME Subjects
The UTME subject section is the third column on the JAMB brochure, and the name fully explains what it means. The UTME subject contains the subject combination that is required of the candidate who has chosen a course to attempt in the CBT exam (UTME).
- UTME Subject combination for Science Students.
- JAMB Subject Combination for Law and DE Requirements for Nigeria Schools.
- Social Sciences JAMB Subject Combinations for all Courses.
- JAMB Subject Combination For Financial Accounting.
4. Special Considerations (Waivers) Remarks
This column of the utme brochure contains all information that may differ from one school to the other.
E.g: A particular institution may accept Agricultural science in exchange for Biology. While some tertiary institutions may not accept Direct Entry candidates. Such information will be available in the fourth column to help you choose the right subjects.
