NANS President Apologises to Seyi Tinubu for False Allegations

NANS President Apologises to Seyi Tinubu – Atiku Abubakar Isah, the factional president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has publicly withdrawn and apologised for the false accusations he earlier made against Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Atiku had previously alleged, in a viral video that circulated widely in April 2025, that Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, invited him to Lagos and offered him ₦100 million to pledge his loyalty and support for President Tinubu.

According to his claim at the time, his refusal to accept the offer led to what he described as an “abduction” on April 15, 2025.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Atiku issued a formal apology via his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, stating that the allegations were fabricated and untrue.

“It has become imperative to note that the offer of ₦100,000,000, which was alleged was made to me to support President Tinubu, was clearly untrue,” Atiku wrote.

“Ladoja Olusola, who was desperate to get me out of my legitimate position as the duly elected President of NANS, fed me lies and half-truths to achieve his selfish agenda of taking over the leadership of the student body through the back door.”

He further accused Ladoja Olusola of deliberately manipulating him with false information and inciting fear.

Atiku claimed Olusola warned him that Seyi Tinubu could order his assassination and cover it up with the help of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

“It was also Ladoja Olusola who warned me that Mr Seyi Tinubu could order my k*lling and thereafter instruct the Inspector General of Police to bury the matter,” he added.

In addition, Atiku retracted another major claim — that Seyi Tinubu led political thugs to disrupt his inauguration.

In his new statement, he confirmed that Seyi Tinubu was never present at the venue, effectively clearing the president’s son of any involvement in the alleged incident.
