More Candidates Score Above 300 in JAMB 2025 UTME

JAMB UTME Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) just released a full breakdown of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results statistics.

Out of 1,931,467 candidates who sat for the UTME this year, 17,025 students scored 300 and above.

That’s 0.88% of all candidates, and that’s the highest we’ve seen since JAMB introduced the Computer-Based Test (CBT) in 2013.

JAMB Statistics 2025 - More Candidates Score Above 300 in JAMB 2025 UTME

Compare that to past years:

  • In 2024, only 8,401 candidates (0.46%) hit the 300+ mark.
  • In 2023, it was even lower — 5,318 candidates (0.35%).
  • In 2021, just 724 students scored above 300.
  • And in both 2014 and 2013? Zero.

While the numbers above look good, the majority of 2025 UTME candidates still scored below 200.

1,365,479 candidates, which is about 70.7%, scored under 200 this year.

That’s a slight improvement from 76% in 2024 and 76.64% in 2023, but it still shows there’s work to do.
