Breaking: JAMB Sets Up Committee to Review 2025 UTME Results

JAMB Sets Up Committee to Review 2025 UTME Results – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the formation of a high-level committee to review the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results following a surge in complaints from candidates across the country.

The decision follows growing concerns of thousands of students and parents after the 2025 UTME results were released last Friday.

JAMB stated that while it receives feedback annually, the volume and nature of this year’s complaints prompted immediate action.

In a statement released Monday, JAMB said it had decided to fast-track its usual post-examination review process, which typically takes months after the UTME.

The review will begin immediately and focus on the entire UTME process, from registration to the examination and finally to the release of results.

“We are particularly concerned about the unusual volume of complaints coming from specific states within the Federation,” the statement read.

“Our technical team is currently analysing all feedback to determine whether any systemic errors occurred.

Where necessary, we will apply appropriate corrective actions.”

JAMB has assembled a team of professionals from reputable institutions and associations to carry out this review.

These include experts from the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Chief External Examiners (usually Vice Chancellors and heads of tertiary institutions), the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, measurement and evaluation specialists, and ICT professionals.

The Board explained that its standard procedure includes giving every candidate a fair opportunity to write the exam.

In cases where technical failures occur, affected candidates are always rescheduled.

JAMB says this principle will also guide its review process of the 2025 results.
